Due to non-availability of any information regarding medicinal values and uses of traditional rice varieties in Chhattisgarh ( India), a survey was conducted in purposively selected districts namely Raipur, Billaspur, Durg, Rajnandgaon and Sarguja. The survey revealed that more than 50 traditional rice varieties possess medicinal properties.
