ABSTRACT

The study was conducted in Palera block of Tikamgarh district in M.P. Total 72 demonstrations were conducted on 6 cultivars of wheat i.e. HI. 1077, HD 2329, WH 416, HI 83–81, HD 2285 and local (12 of each) adopting recommended fertilizers, irrigation, sowing time and method, seed rate and inter culture operations. Higher yields were observed in WH 416 (45 q/ha) followed by HD 2285 (40.8 q/ha) and HI 1077 (40 q/ha). Average yield of varieties WH 416, HI 1077 and HD 2285 was 321.24, 32.56 and 31.51 q/ha respectively. The yield increased 40.09, 33.20, 28.92, 23.46 and 22.05 per cent of WH 416, HI 1077, HD 2285, HD 2329 and HI 83.81 respectively over local variety.
