Sixteen tpaize genotypes were analysed for variation in relative growth rate (RGR) and leaf area ratio (LAR) that influenced seed yield and ancillary characters. Two genotypes MRC 3 and 8 maintained high RGR (0.11 to 0.12 g/g/day) between 45–60 DAS. Three genotypes MRC 3, 8 and 13 recorded high LAR values between 30–45 to 75–90 DAS. MRC 8 with superior LAR recorded maximum 100 seed weIght (31.3 g) and seed yield (24.68 q/ha) due to its high photosynthetic efficiency. All th'e three genotypes Viz., MRC-3, 8 and 13 with promising physiological parameters can be utilized in breeding programmes to evolve better genotypes.
