Field experiment was conducted during the rabi season of 2000–2001. Highest plant height was obtained with the application of 75 kg N ha −1 and 30 kg Pps ha −1 whereas maximum number of tiners, leaves and spikes per plant, number of seeds per spike as wen as maximum seed and stover yield was obtained with the application of 50 kg N ha −1 and 30 kg P 2O 5 ha −1.
