Field experiment was conducted during rabi, 1995–96 to evaluate the performance of fourteen wheat genotypes at two dates of sowing. Variety HS-240 recorded higher number of tillers and grains per ear, thereby produced significantly higher yield (24.3q/ha). Averaged over the varieties crop sown on the last week of November (28 th November) performed significantly better compared to October sown crop in mid hill condition of Himachal Pradesh.
