Sugarcane is propagated by the vegetative method. Normally 1/3 of the buds germinate under field conditions. Seed quality and soil moisture are main factors responsible for germination. In this study impact of seed quality was evaluated on quality and yield of sugarcane per ha. Tonnage of vegetative portion of the crop and per ha sugar production. Results revealed that 30% yield Increased in case of good quality seed against conventional seed used by the growers. In juice quality, there was not much variation amongst the treatments.
