Field experiment was conducted in summer season, 2002 to evaluate the effect of different pre-emergence herbicides and herbicide alongwith hand weeding in controlling weeds in irrigated sesame. Results of the experiments revealed that application of 0.15 kg oxyfluorfen ha−1 with one hand weeding at 30 days after sowing were significantly better in terms of weed control index (92.74%) and seed yield (0.92 t ha−1) as compared to twice hand weeding or herbicide used alone.
