Highest yield was recorded in green chillies (17.5t/ha) followed by watermelon (16.8t/ha) and french bean (15.3t/ha). Maximum net returns were obtained in chilies (Rs. 40,900/ha) followed by raddish (Rs. 26,785/ha) and french bean (Rs. 25,370/ha). More cost: benefit ratio was observed in chillies (1:1.40) followed by palak (1:1.30) and mesta (1:1.28). Hence, Chillies, Palak and mesta vegetables were found more remunerative intercrops in pre- bearing rain fed mango orchards of 3 year old under poor, red gravelly lateritie soils located at coastal belt of Andhra Pradesh.
