A fleld experiment was conducted during rabi of 2002-03 to investigate the effect of sowing time, spacing and nitrogen levels on grain amaranth. Significantly higher nitrogen content in stover, N uptake by seed and stover and phosphorus uptake by seed and stover yields were produced by the sowing date 1st November. similer trend was also observed with increasing the level of N from 40kg/ha to 80 kg/ha. Whereas, the verious spacings failed to produce their significant effect on protein , N and P contents in seed and stover. N uptake by seed and P uptake by seed and stover. The crop sown by broadcasting, gave significantly highest seed and stover yields.
