Higher total phenols, poly phenol oxidase and peroxidase enhance resistance to powdery mildew disease in grape. Total phenols and peroxidase had high heritability along with considerable genetic advance. Hence, these characters can easily be transferred to the susceptible varieties in breeding programmes.
