A field experiment was conducted during 2005-06 in split plot design with three nitrogen levels viz., N1 - 40, N2 - 60 and N3 - 80 kg N/ha as main plot treatment and four newly released varieties viz., V1 - MACS-3444, V2 - NI-5439, V3 - HD-2781(C ) and V4 - AKDW-2997-16 as sub plot treatment. The results revealed that the grain and straw yield (13.29 q/ha and 27.65 q/ha respectively) of wheat increased significantly with the application of 80 kg N/ha.
