A field study was conducted during rabi season of 2002–03 to record the insect pests infesting Paprika (Capsicum annuum L. var. longum). Among the insect pests, the fruitflies, Dacus (= Zeugodacus) tau (Walk.) and Dacus (=Bactrocera) dorsalis Hendel were significantly notable infesting 18.4 per cent fruits. Besides fruitflies, the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulz.), the white spotted flea beetle,Monolepta signata Oliv. and thrips (unspecified) were also recorded on the crop.
