Cite article:- John K. (2024). ESTIMATES OF GENETIC PARAMETERS AND CHARACTER ASSOCIATION IN FINGER MILLET (ELEUSINE CORACANAGAERTIN). Agricultural Science Digest. 27(2): . doi: .
Moderate to higher estimates of GCV, heritability and genetic advance as percentage of mean (GAM) were registered for all characters except days to maturity, it was indicated that these characters were controlled by additive gene effect and days to maturity showed non additive gene effect. Days to maturity, number of productive tillers per plant, number of fingers per ear, main ear length and harvest index registered significant and positive association with grain yield. Non-significant association was observed with grain yield for days to 50% flowering and dry matter production. A weak negative non significant correlation was observed for grain yield with plant height and test weight, indicated that plant height was not prominent character determining grain yield in ragi at high altitude situation as influenced by low temperature.
