A laboratory experiment was conducted in germination trays to study transmission of X. axanopodis pv. malvacearum from infected seeds to seedlings. Results indicated that seeds of cotton var. LRA 5166 inoculated with the pathogen transmitted disease upto 68 per cent on seedlings of the emerged seedlings 16.66 per cent wilted and died.
