Main Research and Findings
Phosphorus is a non-renewable resource. Symptoms of excess phosphorus on plants are difficult to detect. Phosphorus in soil should be researched to reduce costs for farmers and limit environmental pollution: Maize grown on soil with P availability >15mg P/kg of soil did not grow better in greenhouse and field experiments. It is recommended to reduce the amount of P fertilizer by 50%.

Rice is the main crop of the Mekong Delta.Rice production according to VietGAP and organic standards is necessary to enhance value and protect the environment: Productivity of mineral-organic fertilizer and organic fertilizer is not different with  inorganic model. Profit from organic fertilizer model is 18% higher than inorganic  model.

Coconut trees adapt well to salinity and are suitable for salt-infested lands. Researching high-yield and high-quality coconut varieties such as embryo-cultured SAP coconut is extremely necessary: There is no difference in fruiting time between embryo SAP coconut and seed-grown; Embryo SAP coconut  is 4 times more profitable and  has a fruit rate >80% and  Its success rate is 63%. A tree from embryo to the day in the field takes 10-13 months.

Future Scientific Research
  • The responsiveness and factors affecting the efficiency of phosphate fertilizer on crops;
  • Nutritional balance and microorganisms in disease management, increase productivity and quality;
  • Improving the rice production and quality under VietGAP;
  • Improving Sap coconut production by embryo culture and tissue culture
