The  experiment was conducted at department of Horticulture AC & RI, Madurai. The treatments included three levels of N (50, 75 & 100kg/ha), P2O5 (25, 37.5 & 50 kg/ha) and biofertilizers (Azophos,VAM and No biofertilizer). The growth and yield characters were recorded at regular interval of 30 days. Factorial randomized block design was used to analyze the recorded data as statistical tool. As a result, plants received  75 kg N/ha + 37.5 kg P2O5 /ha along with Azophos (2 kg ha-1)  recorded the highest plant height, number of branches, plant spread, fresh weight of shoot, dry matter production and fresh herbage yield
