Forty surface soil samples representing mulberry growing sites were evaluated for the distribution of total and DTPA extractable Zn, Fe, Mn and Cu in relation to soil properties. Zinc deficiency was widespread in these soils, whereas available Fe, Mn and Cu were found adequate. The availability of Zn and Cu was directly related to the organic carbon content of the soils. total Zn, Fe and Mn correlated positively 1I.nd significa\1t1y with CEC of the soils and total Fe with clay content
