130 kg. N2/ha was found better for maximum survival percentage of seedlings, height of the plant, number of green leaves, diameter of pseudostem, minimum no. of days to bulb maturity, maximum number of roots, length of longest root, diameter of bulb, fresh weight of bulb and yield of bulbs in comparison of lower doses i.e. 65 kg. N1/ha and control.
