The pestincidence commenced with the germination of crop on cotyledonary leaves. The population increased with the advancement of crop age and peaked in the first week of September, thereafter, the larval population decreased at low level and pest disappeared in last week of October. Among the different physical factors minimum temperature, relative humidity and rainfall showed positive correlation with the population of this pest, whereas sunshine hours showed negative correlation with the population.
