Reduction in grain yield of maize due to weed infestation ranged from 40 to 60 per cent depending upon the intensity and types of weed flora. Pre – emergence application of atrazine @ 0.5 to 1.0 kg a.i. ha-1 in combination with hand weeding at 30 DAS recorded highest weed control efficiency and lowest weed density and weed dry weight.
