SOURCES AND MECHANISMS OF RESISTANCE IN RICE AGAINST .R1CE LEAFFOLDER CNAPHALOCROCIS MEDINAUS(GUENEEl- A REVIEW
1Department of Entomology,
CCSHaryanaAgricultural University,Hi~r-l25 004, India.
ABSTRACT
The present review on the resistance of rice genotypes against rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenee) covers mass screening of rice in field and sereenhouse conditions. Two hundred and seventy one genotypes evaluated under screenhouse and field conditions in ten countries reviewed from 1970 to 2000 were found resistant against various stages of rice leaffolder. Antibiosis and antixenosis wete the mechanisms of resistance identified under controlled conditions
