The field screening of 22 plgeonpea lines excluding susceptible check for wilt in well developed wilt sick plot and for sterility mosaic by hedge infector technique was adopted during 1993–96. The entry PI-397430 Sel showed consistantly low disease incidence to wilt. The entry ICP-8869 was found to be free from sterility mosaic during all the three years. Of the 22 entries 19 have shown resistance to sterility mosaic. The genotypes ICP-9174, ICP 14280, ICP-14514, ICPL-88069, PI-397430 Sel. and KPBR-80-2-2 showed multiple disease resistance to wilt and sterility mosaic for all the three years, therefore their use In breeding programme is recommended.
